“Having watched various major sporting events and seen the positive impacts they make I was so excited to be offered a role with Birmingham 2022. Having now been here for a year, I love that every day is different, and I am working with colleagues who I can learn from, and be inspired by. I’m looking forward to learning more about the planning process for our competition venues, and how it will all come together at Games time; it will be amazing to see all that hard work come to life. I feel proud to be a part of such a unique team and opportunity.”

“I wanted to be a part of Birmingham 2022 for two reasons; to contribute to the city I was born and raised in and, coming from a financial services background, I wanted to experience what it takes to organise an international multi-sport event. In my role I work with passionate, diverse and inspiring colleagues from all areas of the organisation. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am a great example that you don’t need previous games experience to be involved with Birmingham 2022.”

“Working for the Games, I am using my financial background and passion for sport and work with people from many different and unique backgrounds. It’s exciting to see just how much Birmingham and the West Midlands are developing ahead of the Games, and also anticipating the legacy they will leave for years to come; this is a once in a lifetime opportunity – and all in my local area.”

“With an Events Management background, the opportunity to be involved in an event the scale of Birmingham 2022 – in my home city is unique, and that extra bit special. From day one, I’ve developed new skills, positively contributed and been welcomed to a team I find myself continually learning from. I’m excited by culture, sport and events all coming together as one, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the hard work of the seeds we plant now flourish into something spectacular in 2022; something as Brummies we can share together, and with the rest of the world!”

“I wanted to work at the Games as I used to do athletics at the Alexander Stadium when I was younger, and this will be a fantastic event in my home city. I enjoy the energy of working towards the delivery of the Games, and I am looking forwards to seeing the team’s work come to fruition. Come and join us – it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to work with great people and deliver success in Birmingham and the West Midlands.”

“As a proud Brummie I jumped at the opportunity to be involved in the Games; initially as an Office and Facilities Management Administrator. Since then I have progressed to an Office and Facilities Management Coordinator and now to an Applications Project Coordinator in the Technology team. Working on my first Games has been a real eye opener into the hard work that goes in to deliver the best games to date.”
